We're happy you have a life and that you're busy, it means you're making the best of it, but for the other threaders that like to get on and do this for their own reasons, we really need to know how long you're going to be (nobody likes to just sit around and wait). So if you're going to be gone, don't sweat it! Just post up a thread in the Hiatus section and it will let other mun's know that you're not going to be around for a little while.
If you're going to be on an extended Hiatus and you're really not sure when you'll be back, let me know and post up a Hiatus to let others know. This way I won't go through and see that you've been gone a few months and send you a letter or terminate your character.
